Goals

Current and Future Canadian Doula Association™ Projects

  • Promote birth and postpartum doula support services
  • Provide support for Canadian doulas, provincially and nationally
  • Increase access to doulas for all Canadian women via website referrals
  • Provide a professional association with a Canadian policy committee that can address any concerns that may arise within Canadian primary care settings
  • Provide primary obstetrical care providers and hospitals/birthing centers with information on the role of the doula, benefits of doula support, and how their patients/clients access one
  • Serve as a clearinghouse of information and materials, both provincial and federal, that would be of interest to Canadian doulas and their clients to research in maternal and newborn medicine
  • Educate third party payers of the benefits of a doula support
